Your documents stay in Word

DocFill is a Microsoft Word add-in. When you use DocFill to fill a template, the add-in reads and writes to your document directly inside Word on your device. DocFill does not send your document content, placeholder values, or filled results to SMPL HQ servers.

Because DocFill runs inside Word, the document itself is still subject to your copy of Microsoft Word, your operating system, your browser (for Word on the web), and any Microsoft cloud storage you have configured (OneDrive, SharePoint). Those systems are governed by their own providers, not by SMPL HQ.

What SMPL HQ collects

The smplhq.com marketing website collects basic server-side analytics (page views, request timing) through our hosting provider, Vercel. We do not set advertising cookies and we do not sell data.

If you email us at support@smplhq.com, we keep the message so we can reply to you.

Error reporting

If our website encounters an unexpected error, we collect a diagnostic report through Sentry to help us fix it. Reports contain stack traces and log messages from the server and, when applicable, the browser. Before a report reaches us we automatically redact anything that looks like an email address or an OAuth token, but we cannot guarantee that other text appearing in an error message is redacted.

Error reports from the marketing site do not include the contents of any Word document, because the marketing site has no access to Word or to the DocFill add-in's runtime.

Third-party services

We use Vercel for hosting, Sentry for error tracking, and Resend for transactional email. Each is bound by its own privacy practices. We share only what is necessary for each service to work.
